The ambassador doesn’t cost much to cast and his ability doesn’t cause him to tap. So he can lie waiting in your hand until you cast a combo and finish by causing an opponent to discard 3 cards. It’s a mean card because you can use the ambassador’s ability as many times as you like on your turn as long as you can pay the lands.
